Policy implications for Vietnam tourism industry in the COVID-19 pandemic context
Abstract
This research employs qualitative, quantitative research tools and descriptive analysis with the relevant current media and data offered by Vietnamese authorities to examine the effects of Covid-19 pandemic to Vietnam’s tourism industry. The results show that Vietnam’s tourism industry has had a revenue loss of over 23 billion USD since the late 2019 due to the social distancing and decrease of both domestic and international visitors. However, the difficulty reveals the wisdom, there is a shifting trend to cope with the outbreak. Some policy implications are also proposed.
