An investigation into animal – related metaphors in English and Vietnamese

Abstract

Today, the number of English speakers is increasing rapidly. Following the survey of Crystal (2006), there are one billion of people who use English as the second language and still continue. For its convenience, leaners can use to travel, study, discover new cultures and environments. By the way, the English language contains many interesting features that are waiting for us to explore more and more. One of the hardest challenges in studying English is the transference of word meaning – especially metaphors.
