An American-Vietnamese Cross-Cultural study on the use of Addressing Term in communication and some Potential Cultural Differences
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the similarities and differences in the use of addressing terms in Vietnamese and American communication. It seeks to explore how social factors such as age, status, and relationship influence addressing term choices in both cultures. Additionally, the research aims to identify potential misunderstandings arising from cultural differences and provide practical recommendations for improving cross-cultural communication between Vietnamese and Americans in academic, professional, and social contexts.
