Globalization of Language and Culture in Asia: The Impact of Globalization Processes on Language

Abstract

It is serendipitous that a book about globalization is being edited by someone working in Singapore which is, quite simply, the most glo-balized country in the world. This book began with my hunch that despite the homogenizing effects of globalization, Asia shows some unique aspects of language and culture which have not been given ade-quate air time in applied linguistics journals.
