Multiculturalism and Education

Abstract

The contemporary issue of multiculturalism and its importance within current education debates is dealt with here. The aim of this book is to increase under-standings of how multiculturalism has conceptually developed over time and how applications of the term have shaped education debates (Banks, 2009). The book is also part of an ongoing debate on multiculturalism within educa-tion and the social sciences which includes other concepts that is, integration and citizenship.
