Abstract

This guide was conceived over lunch with Angie McLachlan, scholar and embalmer, in the George Inn on the Isle of Portland. In due time a draft was born and took its first baby steps on the internet with a note attached to its coat saying, ‘Read me and tell me what you think.’ The idea at this stage was to link up with like minds, but, though like minds mostly appreciated it, they were also busy with their own projects. Less flatteringly, no plagiarist pirated it.
