This book Environmental Applications of Instrumental Chemical Analysis is presented as a new addition to the field of environmental analysis, which is growing progressively. The first part of the book is a review of the most used instrumental analysis techniques in the environmental work, and thus the reader will find no mention of techniques like Raman spectroscopy and conventional C, H, and N analysis. As a link between analytical chemistry and environmental work, a chapter was included on “Environmental Chemistry” to introduce the most important features of the environment and pollution sources. At the end of the applications chapters, the contributors presented selected methods of analysis for environmental samples including water, soil, and air to enrich the applied part of the book. Sampling is an essential part of environmental analysis to obtain reliable data about the pollution level. A chapter was included in the book specifically dealing with the sampling requirements, sampling processes, preservation, transportation, documentation, and finally the sample preparation for analysis.en_US
