Abstract
This study has three main objectives: Survey the current status of AI tools used in the English learning process of first-year English major students at Hai Phong University of Management and Technology (HPU), including the level of use, the types of tools chosen, and the purposes of use. Evaluate the effectiveness of AI in enhancing learning autonomy, specifically the ability to self-plan, self-monitor, self-adjust, and self-evaluate of students in the English learning process. Propose practical solutions for students and lecturers to optimize the application of AI, thereby supporting the development of autonomy in English learning in a more sustainable and effective way.
