Japan has been promoting U-Japan since 2004. the EU is aiming to “lead the way” in the transformation to Web 3.0 with the Internet of Things and so on. Although almost all of the new concepts in the IoT domain including the Internet of Things itself as well as other related terms such as M2M (Machine to Machine), CPS (Cyber-Physical Systems), Smarter Planet, Smart Grid, started their life in the United States and became buzzwords worldwide. the IoT term is not yet a catchphrase in the U.S.en_US
