Design and fabrication of rectenna topologies for microwave power transmission system operating at S band
Abstract
This paper describes the design, simulation and fabrication of two rectifying antenna (rectenna) circuit topologies viz. rectenna using half wave series diode and shunt diode half wave rectifier operating at a single ISM – band frequency (f0 = 2.45GHz). The antenna and two rectifiers were also fabricated by the printed circuit board technology. The antenna’s return loss is achieved -26 dB at 2.45GHz. The microwave to DC conversion efficiency in shunt configuration was measured as 31% with 14 dBm input power and 220 load. The design, fabrication and simulated results were carried out by the microwave engineering professional design software, known as ADS2009 package.
