Textile industry wastewaters contain a high concentration of pollutants as well as intense colour. These waters are difficult to treat by conventional biological processes because. Photocatalytic advanced oxidation is a promising technology for waters containing high amounts of organic matter. The efficiency of COD removal depended on the type of wastewater and concentration of pollutants. The effects of wastewater type, pollutant concentration, the pH of the solution, the amount of oxidizing agents, in particular of hydrogen peroxide. In this study we firstly investigated the effect of pH as oxidant by H2O2 combined with UV and O3 combined with H2O2 in order to reduce the organic matter in samples from textile industry effluents. Secondly, we studied the required H2O2 concentration and to produce the highest efficiencies.en_US
