| Abstract: | This book has been actually been written three times. The more we (my companies, partners, and fellow consultants) did enterprise information management “ stuff, ” the more we learned. The more we presented and evaluated, the more we knew we were on to something. Our IT peers said we were “ too esoteric. ” But more and more of our projects entered into organizations via business area sponsors, not IT. In the two years preceding this book’s publication, I have had numerous calls and conversations with business area leaders, and they all say that information management is a business issue. They want IT to manage data more holistically, as they sense that the departmental information management process is not viable over the long term. |
